Ben Smith, a CrossFit veteran, started CrossFit at the age 19. He has competed in every CrossFit game since 2009, and has finished at multiple ranks for ten consecutive seasons. After seven years dedicated, he won 2015 the Fittest Man on Earth title. Smith has never been outside the top ten in regionals, despite his seven-year struggle to win it. In fact, he even won two events.

After an impressive first day, the Reebok CrossFit Games 2015 leaders have been determined. The endurance tests have shifted the leaderboard, as more athletes started to incorporate double reps. The games featured two divisions: one for teens aged 14-17 and one for adults. The "Sandwich" challenge consisted of an 80-calorie row on a Concept2 Model D Indoor Rower followed by 40 shoulder-to-overheads and eighty deadlifts.
